The Penner-Ash Estate Vineyard is located in the northern part of the Willamette Valley, in the Yamhill-Carlton sub-AVA. Founding duo, Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash, were inspired to plant the southeast-facing hillside in part due to its proximity to Shea Vineyard, one of Oregon’s most prized sites. Soil surveys were used to choose rootstocks and Pinot Noir clones by block to optimize the unexpected soil diversity on the 15 planted acres at the property. Clone 114 was planted on sedimentary soil for spiciness, Clone 115 on volcanic soil to bring red bright fruit, as well as the Pommard for mouthfeel and texture. Dijon 667 and 777 throughout the vineyard bring red and black fresh fruit notes.
TASTING NOTES
Rustic red fruit aromas with notes of red cherry, tobacco, and earthy undertones, accented by a touch of black pepper and a dusty character. The palate is full through the mid-palate, with nice weight and length, supported by medium, fine-grained tannins that carry the finish.

Zena Crown Vineyard is located towards the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, home to many of Oregon’s finest Pinot Noir vineyards. During the growing season, ocean breezes push through the Van Duzer Corridor in the Coastal Range, maintaining a consistently cool climate. This climate, combined with the shallow, well-drained volcanic soils of the Jory and Nekia series that dominate the AVA, is the primary reason the Eola-Amity Hills AVA is emerging as one of the most world’s most exciting winegrowing regions. We source from select blocks across the vineyard, picking primarily clonal selections of 667, 114, and 777.
TASTING NOTES
Fresh and dried fruits layered with cocoa, wet stone, pipe tobacco, and licorice. Polished and expressive, with bright acidity, a supple texture, and a long, clean finish.

TASTING NOTES
Vanilla and sweet oak layered over candied cherries and dark fruit. The palate is savory and dense, with juicy fruit character that carries through to a smooth, satisfying finish.
