June Virtual Tasting
Join us on Thursday, June 5th, from 4 to 5 PM for a virtual tasting. Fill your glass and listen as our very own sommelier and estate host, Alexis Rogers, guides you through the 2023 Estate Vineyard, Zena Crown Vineyard, Le Cadeau Vineyard, and Fairsing Vineyard Pinot Noirs. Alexis will share her insights, along with Winemaker Kate Ayre’s thoughts on the vintage and wines and answer your questions at the end of the hour. In addition to being a sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Alexis is certified from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (Level Three) and as both an Oregon Wine Expert and French Wine Scholar. We can’t wait to see you there!
We are pleased to offer the following wines for your current club shipment.
The Penner-Ash Estate Vineyard is located in the northern part of the Willamette Valley, in the Yamhill-Carlton sub-AVA. Founding duo, Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash, were inspired to plant the southeast-facing hillside in part due to its proximity to Shea Vineyard, one of Oregon’s most prized sites.

This wine offers a sweet attack with a full mouthfeel, showcasing a blend of mixed black and red fruits, such as ripe cherries and blackberries, complemented by a hint of cocoa. Warm spices add depth. The wine has good length, with a warm, smooth finish that lingers elegantly.

Fairsing Vineyard, located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, sits on a southeast-facing hillside. Coastal winds influence dramatic temperature changes that beautifully balance ripening. The distinct topography and microclimates of the site gives this wine bright acidity, intense dark fruit, and structure. Fairsing Vineyard is owned by Mary Ann and Mike McNally.
TASTING NOTES
This wine offers a lively mix of ripe berries and fresh fruit aromas, with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied with balanced sweetness, featuring a well-structured, savory finish.

Zena Crown Vineyard is located towards the southern end of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, home to many of Oregon’s finest Pinot Noir vineyards. During the growing season, ocean breezes push through the Van Duzer Corridor in the Coastal Range, maintaining a consistently cool climate. This climate, combined with the shallow, well-drained volcanic soils of the Jory and Nekia series that dominate the AVA, is the primary reason the Eola-Amity Hills AVA is emerging as one of the world’s most exciting winegrowing regions.
TASTING NOTES
This wine opens with delicate floral aromas, including hints of violet. On the palate, it unveils layers of rich cocoa that add a velvety depth. The structure is firm and full-bodied, showcasing a vibrant blend of ripe red and blue fruits, like cherries and blueberries. A savory edge enhances the wine’s complexity, while lively acidity maintains its freshness and balance.
