Our Story

Oak Leaf

In 1998, Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash founded Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in the Northern Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Bringing to life their shared vision, through years of hard work and unyielding commitment, the pair built a reputation for lush, layered Pinot Noir, and community leadership throughout the valley.

Lynn and Ron paid special attention when designing the winery to ensure all elements including space, light, and equipment, were optimized to support human ergonomics.

The discovery of unanticipated soil diversity on the Estate property by an early geologist's survey provided further excitement for the potential of this special site.

After breaking ground in 2003, the winery was barely completed when the Kick Ash Crew used the facility to process our first vintage on site in 2005.

a new partnership

In 2016, the winery joined the Jackson Family Wines portfolio, embarking on a new partnership based on shared love for the land and uncompromising wine quality. Penner-Ash continues to source from premier vineyards across the Willamette Valley sub-AVAs, grounded in decades-long relationships with grower neighbors and friends.
